Kinda overstyled looking, and basically a Ford. Qvale, I'm looking at your Mangusta or whatever also.

Why not? Mustang power train so easy maintenance and mod possibilities. Looks good. Company is still in business so there may bome support.

It doesn't matter how many miles it has on it.
All that matters is how many it has left!

I'd drive it and look for a manual with less miles.

But really for that price and with it being a mustang I bet I could get a manual swap.

That makes a lot of sense! I'm sure you could do it cheaper than the price difference between these and the manuals out there.

I'll talk to my dad about it as something we might wanna do but I don't know he kinda loves Jags and he loves the M6 I found as well. Personally I want a viper or BOSS 302 or this Old Porsche like 1980 year

I would take a Viper over this. Too many miles, and a 4spd auto? Yeesh. Still, I understand the allure. Neat looking and unique, with some racing cred in the Panoz and Esperante name. At least this car was driven and enjoyed instead of coddled in a garage somewhere.

I've seen lower prices for lower miles. That said, I live not 30 minutes from Braselton, GA, and have seen members of the Panoz family in traffic.

Awesome car, but that is all the crack pipe, right there.
Way too many miles, wrong transmission. That's a max $15k car right there.

Trans doesn't matter. really, for that price you could easily swap the trans. IDC about auto vs stick.
WhereAreMyPants
> Cherry_man1
02/05/2015 at 11:17 | 0 |
My point is just that it's more money, and more work, to do a trans swap, on a car that's already massively over-priced.
I love the Panoz cars, and the whole story behind the brand. America, fuck-yeah, and all that, but this is just way too much money for a car that isn't worth it.

> Sn210

I mean if that's the aluminum block I could do a little modding because that block is a little temperamental but if it's the cast one out of the termi then oh hell yes.

You aren't. That's not my point, at all. If you want to buy it, go ahead. All I'm saying is that it's not a good deal.
For $10k more, you can get a perfect, ultra-low mileage, manual car:
http://classiccars.com/listings/view/…
That's close to what you'd have to pay to have the right trans put into this run-out one.

10/10 Would Dragon
Seriously, consider the type of person who likely put all those miles on it. It was a rich old guy who wasn't afraid to spend the coin to maintain it properly and probably treated it really well. A comparable Mustang, on the other hand, might have been driven by someone like me... a man with zero mechanical empathy and a deep love of burnouts, power slides, and general automotive shenanigans and tomfoolery.
Buy the car, man!

If I had the money i'd totally rock that Panoz, Mustang engine and trans. Best case: Its ok and you'd be rocking an ultra jalop car. Worst case: Engine sucks, go out buy a Mustang engine and rock it, and those engines should be cheap or pretty affordable.

We're just getting pedantic, now, but if you don't have any more than the initial purchase price of the first car, where are the funds for the trans, and the swap coming from?
Cherry_man1

Performance, speed, and sound. Really in any shape that is a coupe or in a viper case I can go vert. Really I also want the holy shit aspect of the car. Like with my Gran Torino it's a car you don't normally see and and you do people geek out. I wanna be that guy who drive's a car that people will like really get hyped about but knows his shit about that car. I also wanna DD the thing's people don't want to DD cause they are afraid of the outside with their garage queens.

Based upon that, it sounds like the Viper is the way to go. The SC is out for sure. I love those cars to death, but they aren't fast, and they don't deliver any sort of holy shit factor. The M6 is too heavy and bloated, and also won't really stand out. The Panoz has too many miles for the price. The Viper is the only logical answer. It's a rolling exclamation of speed and ridiculousness, especially in Orange.

Well an Air cooled Porsche showing up to a C&C Being Daily Driven Also there is an M6 in the running as well as a CTS-V Wagon I found lastnight also a Jag XK-R I have found as well I have the link to them somewhere

The SC is probably the second most capable at DD duty next to the the M6. I would definitely recommend you drive one if you're considering it. It's a really unique car that is unlike any of the others you're looking at. It is amazingly analog. You can feel every part of the car working as you move along. As I said though, they aren't so fast. They don't need to be though. If you add a chip it will feel perfectly balanced. You may also want to look into a Carrera 3.2. The entry price is slightly higher, but it would still be within your budget. The additional power over the SC offsets the weight difference (about 300-400 pounds)

Ya I'm thinking about the Viper as a DD as well but the SC I found is really cheap but I see what your talking about and I get what you mean about analog I got my Gran Torino that amazing feel

It's newer and has air bags. If it has air bags he likes it. He had some friends killed in 60's and 70's Muscle cars w/o air bags.

Fair enough. I think my Mom only got happier about the idea of me (or my Dad) in something without them once she had her Jaguar air bags not deploy upon hitting a deer. She always worried a lot before (she had a really bad Pinto crash pre airbags).

Lawrenceville, GA. There aren't any for sale currently, but still. It's pretty neat having such famous (even if only among car and/or wine enthusiasts) neighbors.
